DESCRIPTION: |
The project focuses on Capacity Building for the innovation of Textile ecosystems in Europe. It aims to build and strengthen innovative and resilient value chains and support the circular transition of European textile communities, to foster interregional collaboration among different actors of the quadruple-helix and support the upskilling and the increase of textile circular solutions of less developed regions. To be achieved through the development of cross-border cooperation plans for textile SMEs and the transfer of textile recycling hub models from more to less developed regions of TEX-BREIN. TEX-BREIN enhances the proficiency of public entities and innovation intermediaries, such as clusters, in assisting businesses to pinpoint investment prospects and formulate investment portfolios on an interregional level, for the benefit of textile ecosystems, SMEs in particular. A key focus is the textile industry’s circular transition, which facilitates more environmentally friendly production processes and minimizes the generation of textile waste. Furthermore, the project promotes the adoption of digital and advanced manufacturing solutions to support circularity and new value chains. The reduction of asymmetries between the less and the more developed regions is achieved by mapping and benchmarking the innovation pivots (ex, textile hubs in more developed textile regions) and by engaging companies in cooperation business cases to be submitted to upcoming I3 investment funding. A portfolio of 20 business cases will be developed, of which 3 relate to the design of textile recycling hubs in less developed regions. This project brings together 8 partners from 6 European regions: 3 are classified as less developed - Severovýchod (CZ); Norte (PT) and Łódzkie (PL) and 3 as developed - Tuscany (IT), Catalonia (ES) and Vastra Gotaland (SW). Regarding RDI for the priorities of S3, the proposal contributes to the development of integrated circular and resilient value chains. |
