DESCRIPTION:

In Transit brings together 10 partners, 7 European clusters, 1 research centre, 1 university and 1 business incubator from 8 European countries.

In Transit will be an open online collaboration platform involving innovation actors from the aerospace, construction and textile sectors supported by advanced manufacturing technology players, which will serve as a space for sharing best practices and as a matchmaking system for new innovation and circular economy ideas and new collaborative partnerships.

In Transit aims to support the main objectives of the European Green Deal and the EU SME Strategy. The project will promote a set of activities before each of the two OPEN CALLs to facilitate the generation of project ideas, such as workshops, matchmakings and online webinars.

It will promote interregional and cross-sectoral linkages with thematic study visits in combination with innovation workshops and matchmakings to lay the basis for collaboration across sectors, identifying potential partners for business and innovation cooperation that will ultimately generate growth opportunities for SMEs.

Increasing the resilience of SMEs by supporting their transition to more sustainable business models by funding feasibility studies, prototyping, pilot testing, demonstration, procurement of further specialised consultancy and coaching services that cannot be provided directly by project partners, adaptation of business processes, enabling access to test facilities, introduction of new IT solutions, as well as social innovation strategies.

In Transit will allocate €4 million directly to SMEs and subsequently support the leveraging of additional funds. IN TRANSIT will link the supported SMEs to other initiatives for the scale-up of innovations.

This project will directly (as cluster members) reach 700 SMEs, 140 large companies and more than 150 research facilities in 8 EU countries, and indirectly more than 5 000 SMEs in over 38 countries through European innovation networks and strategic partnerships.
