]]>PRODUTECH was invited to give its testimony of interaction and cooperation with science, technology and industry, in the field of production technologies.
]]>Portugal was represented by 3 innovative projects in industrial robotics area. 11 projects from 9 countries were selected, which will receive up to 248 000 euros for implementation/exploitation of each experiment. From the 11 finalists 2 projects are from Portugal, FIREFIT and FEATS project, which will soon start the implementation and testing of the proposed new technologies.
The FIREFIT – Fiware Ready Quality Control for packaging Systems in the Food Industry project will be developed by INTROSYS and applied in A.Pires Lourenço & Filhos S.A company.
The FEATS – FIWARE- Enabled Autonomous Transport system project will be developed by Dalmasys Lda and implemented in DURIT – Metalurgia Portuguesa do Tungsténio, Lda.
PRODUTECH is the Portuguese partner that integrates the DIH2 project consortium, through one of the Digital Innovation Hubs initiatives that it has been co-promoted, namely the PRODUTECH DIH Platform.
PRODUTECH assumes in the DIH2 a function of national ecosystem stimulation for the project activities, including the promotion, facilitation and support to the participation of national companies in the implementation of pilots in industrial environment, including those approved in the first open call.

The FCT - Foundation for Science and Technology opens a call for tenders until April 5 for special support for rapid implementation projects for innovative solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic.

]]>In the event were also presented the requirements for the use of FIWARE within the experiments, by Francisco Melendez from FIWARE, demonstrations of this platform, as well as cases of implementation of FIWARE-based solutions in Portuguese industry were presented by Professor João Sarraipa of UNINOVA and Professor João Mendonça of CCG and University of Minho.
The event also provided networking moments among the various participants.

]]>Andrea Bettoni, from SUPSI, Switzerland, coordinator of MANUSQUARE, presented the envisioned MANUSQUARE platform and Manufacturing-as-a-Service business model, setting the tone for the community discussion on the platform features, drivers for adoption and the identification of the stakeholders’ likelihood to use it when available.
From the discussions the most valued 3 key features to be implemented in the platform were “production capacity matching” with 62% of the votes, “sustainability assessment”, with 46%, and ex-aequo, with 38% of the votes, “know-how/technology capabilities matching” and “innovation management”, while, surprisingly, “reputation management” was identified as one of the 3 main features to be implemented by only 8% of the participants.
Regarding the top two accelerators to promote the use of the platform the participants identified the “platform maturity”, with 38% of the votes, and “the sectorial relevance of the community”, with 23%. The “benefit and rewards schema” and the “availability of trial versions” were also rated as relevant accelerators to promote the platform usage.
In the most expressive result 40% of the stakeholders identified that would definitely use the platform, while the remaining 60% stated their high and medium likelihood to use the platform when available. These results are quite expressive of the potential and the value that the platform will deliver to the community of stakeholders.
The Forum PRODUTECH 2018 took place in parallel to the 17th edition of the bi-annual EMAF Fair, which is the largest International fair on manufacturing technologies held in Portugal.
